Pre last.fm, I listened to Au Revoir Simone‘s Verses Of Comfort, Assurance & Salvation regularly for months. After 2005, I guess due to an external hard disk crash causing me to lose the majority of my so carefully downloaded and correctly tagged 150GB music library, I totally forgot about the existence of this band (and many others I’m afraid). But when today’s additions to the Luisterpaal included their new album Still Night, Still Light, I suddenly remembered it all, made a little wee! happiness! jump in my chair, immediately clicked play and shortly thereafter realized accidently saying “Au Revoir” in 2005 gave today’s “Oh! Hi again!” a lot of extra value. Lost and found music equals good times!
A frantic web search followed and after closing a significant amount of pop-ups, I finally got my hands on Au Revoir Simone’s Still Night, Still Light. The album will be released on the 19th of May. Another Likely Story is its first track.
